Sonangol is a group of companies that includes Sonangol Holding, all subsidiaries and the joint ventures companies. All companies of Sonangol Group are independent business units with their own management structure. The subsidiaries management reports directly to the Administration Council.
Segments of Activity
Sonangol Group governs its core business operations linearly based on the full integration of the following segments: oil concessions, oil exploration and production, refining, marketing and shipping.
Oil Concessions
The scope of the concessionary's activities includes negotiation of offshore and onshore oil concessions and the post-contract signature supervision of the economics related to the concession.
Exploration & Production
This segment encompasses all activities related to oil and gas exploration and production.
Refining marketing and shipping
Our largest segment of activity includes the refining, marketing, shipping and distribution of crude and its derivatives.
Operations of the various segments are generally carried out by subsidiaries or joint ventures companies. Whenever required, Sonangol Holding provides financial manpower administration and service resources for support for the activities of the subsidiaries.
Corporate Management
Our Administration Council is the primary decision-making body in matters of overall strategy and the authorization for investment expenditures for the Group. Furthermore, it is the Administration Council that determines corporate strategies regarding performance, rentability and international expansion of Group Sonangol.
