Discovering new talents is imperative to promote the cultural identity of Angola. Therefore, fullfiling its social responsibility Sonangol E.P. established this new literature award that is a partnership with U.E.A. (Angolan Writers Union).

• Only angolan citizens without published works are entitled to participate.
• The angolan citizens who want to participate must live in Angola.
• Can be submitted for this contest works in all literature genres as well as investigation works or essays.
• The prize will be awarded every two years.
• The value of the prize is USD 10,000.00 (ten thousand US dollars)
• In addition to the cash prize, Sonangol E.P. will sponsor the publication of 1000 (on thousand) issues of the winning work.
• Works submission period for current contest - August 27 to October 31, 2008.
