Block KON-11 is located in the onshore Kwanza Basin to the east of Cabo Ledo, located some125 km south from Luanda. Its area size is 1,020 km.

The block is uniquely positioned on the east flank of the prominent magnetic- gravity high feature known as the Cabo Ledo high which separates the inner onshore kwanza basin from the outer offshore basin.

Potential source is recognized in the Aptian Binga carbonate shales. The principal discoveries on the block at Tobias and Galinda are in Aptian age Binga carbonate.
